Commentary for II Samuel 19:8

Now therefore arise, go forth, and speak to the heart of thy servants; for I swear by the LORD, if thou go not forth, there will not tarry a man with thee this night; and that will be worse unto thee than all the evil that hath befallen thee from thy youth until now.’

Rashi on II Samuel

That [if] you do not go out [to the people]. If you do not go out.5Rashi is adding the word “if” to the verse.
